Great article. I am an acupuncturist and teach my patients that any type of sensation to the acupuncture area can be helpful, needles, heat, massage or electrical stimulation. It is my belief that a stronger stimulus (without any more discomfort) is much more effective. In China, they typically use thicker acupuncture needles thus the results are much more remarkable.
