Great article, more so because I strongly believe that depression, anxiety, phobias and panic attacks are all conditions of the mind. Fortunately these are curable and behavioral modification is the first and foremost step in that direction. The patient must believe that he or she can be cured and that is almost always the first hurdle to cross. Positive thinking would top the list on behavioral modification techniques and one of the better ways to achieve that in my experience is to get patients to learn to appreciate what they have and not brood over what they don't. This feeling of appreciation works wonders for people that I have come across with problems. Through this simple technique they have found a foothold on that slippery precipice that they once believed to have been climbing.

Looking forward to more posts from you.

I've seen behavioural therapy used with some very good results when working in a psych hospital. Isn't it best used in conjunction with cognitive therapy?
