We all know the importance of water for all life forms and are also perhaps aware of the many ways in which it is important for the existence and wellbeing of human being. Water can eliminate toxins, reduce bad breath, help fight wrinkles and even help maintain body temperature and homeostasis.

According to practitioners of Ayurveda, the traditional Indian system of medicine and other health practices, the process of Jala Kunjal is recommended to help with a number of disorders and body anomalies.
Jala Kunjal consists of drinking salted, luke warm water first thing in the morning on an empty stomach.
The midriff is then churned and the water is forced out, thereby helping the body in a number of different ways – this can help dispel dyspepsia, acidity (or heartburn), bad breath, food poisoning and even certain skin and blood disorders.
Then there is another Ayurvedic treatment called “Usha Paana Chikitsa” where you drink one and a half liters of water as soon as you get up in the morning. The water should have been stored overnight in a utensil made of copper – this can help the body fight cold causing germs as well as obesity.
