What Is Adrenal Fatigue? What Are the Symptoms and Treatment? Part 2

In Part 1 of this post, we looked at what is Adrenal Fatigue and what the symptoms and signs of this condition are. Here we look at the possible alternative and complementary treatments to help overcome adrenal fatigue.

Lifestyle alterations to treat adrenal fatigue

It’s true that most of us simply don’t have enough time in a day to get done what needs doing. So it is difficult to find the time to sleep enough to eat healthy and to take the time out for fun and leisure activities. But in the interests of your health you have to take out the time to really look after yourself – sleep well, eat well and don’t work too hard; if possible take a holiday.

Adrenal Fatigue TreatmentReduce stress

Stress has a draining effect on you physically and mentally and is one of the chief causes of adrenal fatigue.

The hormone cortisol has great bearing on our physical and mental wellbeing and brining this hormone is of vital importance.

If you have to, change your job – even a change in boss or department may be adequate.

If there are stresses at home, such as having to care for an elderly relative or special child, try and get help to reduce your stress and workload. Speak to someone about your situation, or write a private blog or a diary. Just the simple matter of expressing your emotions may help you control stress better.

Find out about allergies and food intolerances

Adrenal fatigue is also about delayed food allergies and intolerances. These result in a hidden stress for your adrenal glands and hinder our attempts to treat this condition because the more your glands are exposed to allergens the more stress they undergo, struggling to respond.

Finding out about these and identifying them will help you control your situation better. In fact getting to the root cause of your adrenal fatigue is half the battle to help you overcome your condition.

Adrenal fatigue supplements

Vitmain C supplements are known to help reduce adrenal fatigue symptoms. Adding sea salt to the diet is also recommended in some cases. A Vitamin B complex supplement with high proportions of B 6 and pantothenic acid can also help.

Vitamin E supplements could also help. Magnesium and calcium supplements could also help allay fatigue. An herbal supplement that could help one overcome their adrenal fatigue is licorice root extract.

It may take 6 months or a year; and for severe cases it could take up to 2 years but it is possible to overcome adrenal fatigue – it is about persevering and reclaiming your life.
